READ THE DESCRIPTION because I don't want to get yelled at for having an opinion omg
Now, don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with merely not liking something that lots of other people like; there's PLENTY of popular fandoms that I don't personally care for. But, I do NOT harass the people who DO like it. I do NOT dislike it BECAUSE it's popular. I do NOT run around bragging about how much I hate it to everyone I meet. And I most certainly do NOT assume that people who do like it are unintelligent (wtf?!?). Because that's stupid.
Seriously, people. Not liking a certain movie/game/anime/band/whatever does NOT make you a better person than anyone else. What the hell.
And I know what a lot of you are thinking: "But the fans are SO ANNOYING!" Big friggin' deal. That's not exactly the original creators' fault, is it? I mean, there are PLENTY of annoying people in most of the fandoms I have, but I don't blame the original work itself for that. Besides, by that logic you should just stop liking anything EVER, because I can guarantee if something exists, there ARE going to be annoying fantards for it out there. Period. Just do what I do and IGNORE THEM. It's not that hard.
One final thought: "Cool" kids may call those who follow the crowd "mindless sheep", but if they're automatically refusing to like anything with even the smallest bit of mainstream recognition, isn't that pretty much the same thing? After all, it's judging a work based on how popular (or unpopular) it is, rather than the merits of the work itself.
Feel free to use for whatever, just don't claim it as your own or say it was crappy or whatever.
template by and horribly mangled by me. this is my first stamp; give me a break. >_>

YEAH! XD I wrote up a similar rant once. I neglected to add that instantly disliking the popular thing kinda means you're doing almost the same thing, but it's something I've pondered about before.
Also I'd like to add that hating things takes more effort than liking them, and I know that from experience. I used to hate Final Fantasy. For no effing reason except that other NintendoFanPPL seemed to do that. That and the fact that everyone in my highschool insisted that FFVII was better than OoT, and such a statement was unforgiveable. D: But now, look at me! XD I love Final Fantasy - 'cause I gave it a try. AN HONEST TRY, not the, "i played for 5 minutes and I still hatez it and ur all still dumb" try. X3
Even now, though, there's a couple things I hate. Shows and movies, mostly. Animated things that I think aren't steering artists or animators in what I think is the right direction. But I try not to mention what they are by name on here, because I have nothing against the individuals that like them, and I know how it feels to have people rag on things you like. So instead, my policy is, state what you like, and leave the dislikes blank. XD What does it matter what you don't like? That doesn't help you find friends.
I'm adding this to my favs, although I can't use it just yet. XD
